Two years later whilst
setting up a motor factor
parts business near Witney
in Oxfordshire, Martin Snell
Motorsport bought their first
rally car, an Ex-Works 1300cc
Group 'B' Talbot Samba.

As the company grew, Martin was forced to take a break from competing in order to devote more time to the now growing parts supply and rally preparation business.

With a wealth of rally experience, the company began to include on-event management and service work within its portfolio, and in 1998 built and ran successful cars in the Ford Escort Cosworth Challenge finishing 2nd O/A with Paul Snell (Martin's cousin)

1999 saw more expansion. This time into the Peugeot 'Super 106 Cup' building and preparing front-running cars for Dave Nutt and Barry Mayers during the 1999, 2000 and 2001 seasons.

Also in 1999, Martin began professional driver tuition at local rally schools and circuit track days, including manufacturer training days for Mitsubishi UK. Teaching tarmac and gravel driving in all manner of cars including Ferraris, Subarus & Mitsubishis to name just a few.

After a break from competition of almost six years, in 2001 Martin purchased an ex-Carlos Sainz Escort Cosworth which he used to good effect on selected tarmac and gravel events.

After some success with the Escort, in 2003 Martin bought a Prodrive built International Group 'N' Subaru Impreza Version 5 to widen his experience of 4WD on the BTRDA rally championship.

Martin Snell first started in
motorsport in 1986 as a co-driver on
club tarmac rallies in Southern England.

Over the next six years Martin won many class and overall awards at the wheel of the french manufacturer's 1300cc pocket rocket, humbling much more powerful machinery to record several top 6 overall finishes.

Martin Snell Motorsport has grown from the combination of a successful motor factor business and a wealth of competition experience spanning nearly 20 years.

Now solely specialising in Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution parts supply, rally preparation and service, driver tuition and on-event support, the company looks forward to the next 20 years.
